Day 1
Arrival at San Juan
Arrive San Juan Airport – Groups of 10 or more arriving close together will be met by our transportation company for a short ride to the hotel. Groups arriving at different times will take a cab to the hotel and be reimbursed for the ride and tip. Be sure to keep your receipt.
We will be staying 6 nights at a three star hotel. The exact hotel accommodations will be made available prior to booking. Our goal is find the best hotels with the best prices and the most concessions we can negotiate for our guests. All tours will include a FREE breakfast. See our policies page for more details.
Spend the afternoon relaxing at the beach until we gather as a group for a delicious dinner.
At 7 PM: Meet in the lobby for our Welcome Dinner. We'll take a short walk, to one of my favorite local restaurants where you'll be able to experience some of the traditional cuisine from the area. American fare will be available as well.
Day 2
Old San Juan
Enjoy a leisurely morning having breakfast, sitting on the beach or strolling the streets to pick up some of the local flavor. We'll meet at noon for a great lunch together and from there we'll head to Old San Juan. This is optional and will be self pay.
2:00PM: Leave for OLD SAN JUAN. Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel and depart for Old San Juan. We will travel through portions of new San Juan and into the beautiful centuries old city of the original San Juan, actually an island connected by bridges to mainland Puerto Rico. You will drive past Fort San Gerónimo and on into Old San Juan, one of the most beautiful old cities in the New World and filming location for big-budget movies starring such starring such luminaries as Will Smith, George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman. Your first stop is for a short visit to Fort San Cristobal, a mainstay of the San Juan fortification system, from which the Spanish successfully defended their city from British and Dutch attacks as well as frequent assaults from various and sundry pirates. You’ll see the beautiful 17th century Spanish ironwork on the restored homes and note the blue-black glazed cobblestones that were brought to San Juan as ballast for the Spanish galleons, and were used to line the narrow streets of the Old City. In addition, armed with our Map of Old San Juan, you will have some time to explore some of the many interesting shops, boutiques and art galleries that have made this historic area their home. Duration: 4 hrs.
6:00 PM: We arrive at a charming Puerto Rican restaurant which features a rotating display of colorful artwork by featured local artist. This dinner will be special for most. A chef will welcome guests and talk with them about Puerto Rican cuisine. He explains local vegetables, and some of the common spices. Guests will then learn how to make a mojito, a sugary minty rum concoction. Guests will learn how to make Mofongo, a popular dish in Puerto Rico. The chef then samples the Mofongo, and selects the best! Guests enjoy a hardy dinner, followed by an assortment of homemade desserts, and coffee. Schedule a late pick up and enjoy an evening in Old San Juan. 3 hours Includes: Make a Mojito (must be 18 year old to drink)Mash your own Mofongo (fried, smashed green plantain stuffed with chicken, seafood or vegetarian style) Enjoy a treat with Puerto Rican Desserts (Flan, Tres Leches, Cheese Cake) Café con Leche (Puerto Rican coffee).
Day 3
Free Time
The beach and pool are always popular, but if you want to get out and look around, there are some day trip suggestions on our home page. Rental cars are available everywhere and rates are very reasonable. If you didn't get enough shopping in Old San Juan, it's an easy drive or cabs are readily available. One of the more popular destinations in Old San Juan is the Bacardi Rum Distillery. The tour is free and the tour guides inside are informative, engaging, and available for any questions. PLUS... you get two FREE drinks. You also can purchase Bacardi products that aren't sold in the states. The entire tour will take about an hour & a half.
Day 4
El Yunque Rainforest and
Evening Bioluminescence Kayak Adventure
11AM - Your tour guide will meet you to depart for the Caribbean National Rain Forest, known as El Yunque. El Yunque is the only tropical forest in the United States National Forest System. Its rugged land climbs from almost sea level to about 3,500 feet above sea level and is doused with up to 200 inches of rain every year. Nowhere in the world will your eyes observe a greater wealth of beauty than what is waiting for you in the rain forest.
According to ancient Indian legend, the good spirit "Yuquiyu" reigned on his mighty mountain top throne, protecting Puerto Rico and its people. Many of the sights you will see today are the same as those that dazzled the first Spanish Explorers more than 500 years ago. You'll see 1,000 year-old trees, strange plants with exotic rainbow colored flowers, and thick vines with great masses of lush red blossoms waving in the cool breeze. From the heart of this breathtaking beauty you'll hear the incessant, yet delightful two-note chanting of the "Coqui," the chattering of unseen tropical birds, and if you’re lucky, the squawk of the endangered Puerto Rican Parrot. Our entertaining and interpretative, fully guided service to “El Yunque” includes a stop at Yokahu Observatory Tower and a fascinating Nature Walk to “La Mina” Falls. Also included is a small trail visit as well as several stops to El Portal del Yunque Visitor’s Center, La Coca Fall, and a visit to the Yokahu Tower. Duration: 5hrs.
Bioluminescence Kayak Adventure evening adventure: The day doesn't end when the sun goes down! We offer relaxing kayak tours at sunset that lead to the fascinating lagoon at Las Cabezas de San Juan Reserve. Under the blanket of the night sky and the historical lighthouse of Fajardo, you can touch the waters that glow with the bioluminescence organism. Day 6
Come and Enjoy Paradise
9 AM: We leave for 1.5 hour drive to Fajardo for a trip to world famous Flamenco Beach. This premium adventure begins when we depart from Puerto Del Rey Marina aboard the Island Flyer, a comfortable turbo speed Catamaran. In only 45 minutes, we will arrive at the magnificent Coral Reef of the nearby Culebra and Culebrita Island. You will enjoy a day that Includes snorkeling, swimming, an open bar and lunch. Located about nineteen miles east of Puerto Rico and eight miles north of Vieques, Culebra is the smallest of the inhabited Spanish Virgin Islands.
Culebra is a small island municipality under the domain of Puerto Rico, which has is under the protection of the United States. With 1400 acres of land, it is well known as a nesting area for numerous seabirds, as well as the endangered leatherback turtle. Giant mangroves and soft corals will capture your attention in the shallows and magnificent reefs that encircle the island. You will play among the tropical fish and other sea life that abound. From the boat you will be able step right in the blue green tropical waters. Enjoy full open bar, snacks, Piña Coladas, Rum Punch and more.
Get ready for some real snorkeling while our certified instructors guide you to an unforgettable experience. After almost 2 hours of snorkeling we will depart to Flamenco Beach. The third most spectacular beach in the world. There you will enjoy an on board Lunch Buffet of fresh fruits, fresh-baked breads, sliced deli meats, cheeses, tuna salad, gourmet pasta salad, coleslaw, chips and delectable treats.After lunch you can relax on the white sands or swim in the crystal clear water. Two people to a room from $1595.00 US pp 3 people to a room $1450.00 US pp 4 people to a room $1275.00 US pp **A deposit of $400.00 U.S holds your reservation. Keep in mind that this tour is likely to fill up prior to the registration deadline, so please register early to ensure your seat. The remainder is due 45 days before departure.
Solo travelers can be paired with other solo travelers. Please inquire regarding availability and prices. All transportation is provided by an professional approved Destination Management Company (DMC) registered with the government of Puerto Rico.
A cancellation fee of $150 will be charged if cancelled 60 days before departure; if cancelled between 60 and 45 days before departure a $400 cancellation fee will be charged.
Cancellations after 45 days before departure will incur a $500 charge only if the tour seat can be filled, otherwise a 50% cancellation fee of the full amount will be charged. There will be no refund for cancellations for any reason on or after 30 day before departure. There will be a $35 charge for returned checks.
